“A Place For All The People”
Built upon land long dedicated to serving those seeking solace, the Ramapo Recovery & Retreat built its foundations upon the original site of a Carmelite Retreat. This land has for generations dedicated itself to programs reflecting on modern-day issues that many individuals and families face. In the words of the Carmelite founder, Fr. Brice Riordan: “[For] those battling addiction—or planning for the future of their church, or spending an extended period reflecting on an annual retreat—[they] come to Carmel. They seek the peace, quiet and hospitality that they find in this special place.” The Ramapo land at Mahway evokes the reflection and healing we need today.
