Our goal is to provide information to increase understanding of substance use disorder, mental health and the opioid epidemic.

The Challenge We Face

The numbers are staggering. From 1999-2017, almost 400,000 people died from an overdose involving opioids, including prescription and illicit opioids, in the United States. In 2017, the number of overdose deaths involving opioids was 6 times higher than in 1999.

48.5 million Americans aged 12 or older had a substance use disorder (SUD) in the past year. This represents 17.1% of that population.”
